The speaker claims so for the reason that true innovation results from the enterprise and unique perception of an individual. In my view, I agree with the speaker insofar as that in the past time, many innovations, whether in society or in academic, are promoted primarily by individuals. However, in the modern society, it is difficult to make some significant contributions only by oneself. To begin with, it is true that in the past time many innovations are mainly attributable to one's intelligence in the society field. To shed light on this assertion, one needs look no further than the anti-Japan War, which has lasted for nearly seven years in China. When the Japanese soldiers were crazily plundering in the Chinese land, many Chinese compatriots were killed and most of them live in the horror and despair. At that time, it was Chairman Mao who lead the one most famous campaign--anti-Japan war and succeeded in defeating the enemies and made Chinese people live a comfortable life. Someone may argue that if it was not the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands Chinese soldiers, Mao could not have made it only by himself. However, if it was not the intelligence of Mao and his deep study in military science, how could our soldier who nearly only had their hands beat the enemies who were equipped with the most sophisticated weapons at that time. Perhaps the result of the war would have been that more and more Chinese soldiers were killed and China might be the colony of Japan. When it comes to previous science, the author's assertion is also reasonable. The history is deplete with innovations that was only the result of one's own endeavor. When we consider the periodic table of elements, we can see no reason to deny this assertion. For a long time in chemistry field, chemists were busy with finding new elements in the unlimited universe. However, they have never thought whether there were any relationships between those elements. It was Mendeleev, one of the most outstanding chemists in Russia, who believed in his viewpoint that there must be intrinsic correlation in these numerous elements. After several years' observation, he ultimately promoted the periodic table of elements, which successfully predicted the characters of many elements which were unknown at that time. Admittedly, Medleev's achievement was based on the many previous chemists who devoted their own lives in finding new elements. However, we cannot deny that if it were not Mendeleev's significant imagination and perception, perhaps the major work in chemistry today might still be continuing finding the rest elements which were proved to be unstable by the table. While I conceded that in the previous time, many achievements and innovations are mainly caused by individuals, however, in today's society, it is difficult and impossible for one to make any significant contribution to the society only by oneself. In this fast-changing society, with the high development of modernization and civilization, in order to make some innovation, the most important thing that scholars need is cooperation. One example aptly illustrating the point involves in the Human Genome Plan, in which scientists and scholars from seven countries used nearly seven years to succeed in learning about the sequence of human protein. If it was the cooperation of so many scientists, how can our human beings know about ourselves in such a short time. The success of this plan cannot be attributable to any people's intelligence and only is the result of the cooperation from scientists in all fields such as chemistry, biology, physic and mathematic.. In sum, from what has been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that in today's society one's unique perception play less important role although many previous achievements are attributable to it.
