有关sars影响nus发放offer和入学时间问题的几个文章~[转贴]

发信人: tongice (猪猪~侏罗纪美女×新生代恐龙), 信区: Singapore 标 题: 关于现在新加坡大学对中国学生的政策 发信站: BBS 大话西游站 (Sat May 3 11:37:15 2003), 转信 首先是，已经受到email offer的同学，请放心，无论是NUS还是NTU，都不能因为SARS 收回offer。只有两种情况下可能会把offer收回，第一种是offer candidate犯了严重 的刑事罪，另外一种是offer candidate感染了sars病例。如果你没有以上两种情况的 任一种，请放心，作为亚洲知名大学，绝对不会出尔反尔，把已经发放的offer收回去。 已经拿到provisional offer的同学，只要按照NUS的要求提交所需要的证明材料，NUS 会把provisional offer换成official offer。同上一种情况，已经发放的offer是不会 收回的。 如果你是申请2004春季或者秋季的new prospective student，或者2003申请失败想重 新申请新加坡大学的网友，请量力而行，可以肯定明年两所大学将会减少海外学生的 录取数量（因为新加坡经济本来就不景气，sars的打击更是致命的）。 我想这里大部分都是前两种情况的网友，请耐心等待，相信新加坡方面也在努力采取 措施来帮助我们入学。我们这里也应该体谅人家，新加坡是个很小的国家，面积还没 有北京大，一旦大规模爆发疫情，后果不堪设想。 另外，我爸爸是南洋归来的华侨，他们侨联开过几次会，说了现在新加坡和中国外交 关系十分紧张。新加坡政府指责其境内多起sars病例都是由不负责任的中国人携带入 境的（情况确实如此）。目前两所学校暂缓offer的发放工作，也是因为政府施加的 压力。很多人都收到了所在院系要求近期不要入学的通知，在新加坡的居民在这种非常 时期也不愿意把房子租给中国学生。所以，希望大家都能有点做人的尊严，不要总是 想着怎么偷偷摸摸的过去，这对你个人和整个国家，以及后来的中国学生都没什么好处。 万一真的因此出事，才真有可能使得两所大学withdraw已经发放的offer。希望有些人， 好自为之，不要因为我说了这些就恼羞成怒。我是斑竹，自然要在这种时候让版面稳定， 不至于引起混乱。 新加坡版聚暂时取消，鉴于目前北京的sars情况。希望大家都能平安到达新加坡，我们 可以在那里相聚//bless all -- 发信人: zhao (好心情), 信区: Singapore 标 题: Re: NUS faculty of science小蜜给我的来信 发信站: BBS 大话西游站 (Sat May 3 11:52:50 2003), 转信 这也是理学院小秘给我发的e-mail Dear Candidates, As you should have already received our preliminary offers via email, and confirmation letter. You have to wait for another Formal Offer Letters from our Dean's Office and it would be delayed by a few weeks.We also need to phase your arrival dates and your admission may be delayed too. The economy in Singapore is now at the lowest ever point due to the 9.11 accident, the gulf war and current SARS.Many people lost their jobs and the government significantly cut down research funds. Pay of the university staff has also been cut by 7% in NTU. It is only being delayed. Since everyone from an infected area must be quarantined for ten days, the university is now making arrangement on the quarantine matter. Once this is settled, the official offer letter will be sent out. Please be patient.
