The other is my failure to bring the bank books along with me made the visa officer do not believe on the history records of my parents’ savings. This time, I prepare 1million RMB accompanied with bank books and other materials to show that my family has strong financial ability. VO只看了一下asset list 和存款证明上存款的日期，然后一直在看电脑，随手翻了翻下面的存折和利息清单，基本没停留仔细看。 Me: last time I only brought a small portion of my family’s deposit which I have thought was enough to cover my one year study expenses. This time, I also bring along with me more bank deposits available for my education. The bankbooks, deposit receipts of saving, historical interest receipts and personal banking business voucher can prove the money’s history. VO: Most of you deposits are in 2005 and 2006. VO不理我盖章了。 3000， 其他不记得了 就记得签证官看到有美金和港币，就问我钱是哪来的，我就告诉他以前爸爸去过欧洲国家，那时存的，VO问我要护照，我说没有，因公的，后来收回了。然后就据了 5月31，我的跨区广州4000过 以下是我的4000签经： 我交了表之后就坐在等候区等，不久就被叫到名字到4号窗口按指纹，然后貌似美国人的按指纹小米，就告诉我到8号窗口排队等候签证。我排的这队是黑人glass boy，看起来很kind, 比7号窗口一直皱着眉头的美国白人签证官相比让人放心得多。我前面的几个都是签探亲的大爷大妈，差不多有一大半被据了，不过签证官的态度一直很好，资料也要得比较多，考虑也比较细致。我有感觉，就凭我材料准备那么充分，我一定可以过。前面一对老夫妇丈夫拿到签证而妻子被据了，他们走之后就到我上了。 Me: Good morning, Sir. Me: This is my forth visa application, I have so many big changes.(因为去年是因为钱的问题被据，电脑里也留下了我在这方面很不好的历史记录，所以决定一上去就先主动解决这个问题，让签证管重新审视我) VO: What are you going to do in US?(签证官转移问题，没有让我有机会继续把change说下去) Me: I am going to Washington University to pursue my master degree in Urban Desing. (觉得单跟他解释我的专业比较抽象，所以打算用他比较熟悉的环境来引入这个问题) VO: （开始笑）,原话我记不清楚了，大概就是说这是你的visa application,我是签证官，应该是我向你提问题。 （虽然签证官最后没有按照我预想的回答我的问题被我引导到专业上，但是他在笑，我就知道他对我印象不错，而且从我的问题中他知道我是干什么的了，没有涉及到规划的敏感问题，这样就足够了） Me: I also have supporting letter and resume. They can help you understand me. (拿着这两样东西在玻璃前晃，签证官看到了问我要。我个人觉得我的resume还是个比较有优势的材料，里面穿插了我做设计的图，让人一看就知道我的设计背景，所以签证官后来也没有问我要本科的学位证书或者成绩单。我的supporting letter 上关于专业名称的东西也用荧光笔highlight出来。) 在签证官看的同时，我一边说我拿了$20,000奖学金和准备了多少钱等资金上的change。 VO: （指着我的I-20上说）You still need to pay $40,000, who will support you study. Me: My parents. (把asset list, 存折，存单原件全部拿出来，递给签证官) VO: (看我的assetlist), what you parents do? Me:（把爸爸的任命书，爸妈的工作证明，名片全部递给签证官，开始说）My father is XXXXXXX, my mother isXXXXXXX. Their total annual income amouts toXXXX. So, money is not a problem for my family. My family also have so other stock investment and real states……… VO：（开始看我的存折，存单） Me: (把一本家里去银行打出来的以前的交易记录立在玻璃窗前晃) All my family’s money have very clear bank history, as early as 2000. BYE!(向他挥挥手.他也很友好的微笑,挥手,隔着玻璃,有点怪怪的) 对大牛,就不用看了.希望能给担心自己口语,去读MLA和OFFER只有复印件的XDJM有点用. 本人也曾经为了专业的问题,口语和听力的问题,没有原件OFFER等问题7上8下. 太傻(上海)给了我明确的指导.也使我明确自己的职业方向. 感谢所有帮助过我的人! http://www.taisha.org/bbs/archiver/tid-845720.html MLA 免一半学费 上海1000 pass 回到小屋，听着窗外围墙上白猫先生对白猫小姐唱情歌，尾巴一摆一摆，猫小姐听得动情了，也跟着一唱一和。嘿，就是这一对全白的神仙眷侣，天天在围墙上散步，陪我度过签证前一两日的悠闲生活。 习惯了6点半起床，昨晚水喝多了，今天6点就醒了。回忆昨夜之梦，好像已经签过一回。用罢美味的闽南肉粽，check 材料，然后打车直赴梅龙。7点40到，一楼已经排了百来号人。最后一个进电梯，到了八楼，理所应当第一个出来，理所应当排在了原本在一楼排在我前面人的前面。这碰巧的投机，原不是我本意，却也让我窃喜了一把。 然后排队安检，排队递材料，然后找个位子坐下等叫号。先是坐在男vo那边，纵观了几个男vo申材料的情况，听了听他们问的问题。主要还是看资产，而且父母的工作和资产是必问的。在那里坐了会儿，发现vo中文好的很，签证的气氛也不严肃，跟银行柜台差不多。也就很不紧张了，本来还想多练练25问，看此情形，也犯了懒，只巴望着赶快叫到我。熟悉了3个男vo的表情，语音之后，又觊觎女vo那里，看到一有人喊到号，就立马坐过去，好熟悉各个vo。纵观下来，发现vo们都没有传闻中的那样面带笑容，F1也没有传闻中签的那么快。特别6号窗口的女vo，估计是美国人，一直没见她笑过。心想，最好不要落到她手里。 走了一会神，边上的gg提醒叫到我的号了，立刻上前，还真是那个6号！不管了，露出我招牌甜美笑容，见神杀神，见鬼迷鬼。整个过程中，我始终keep smile,而且keep eye contact, 特真诚那种，vo也被我感染了，居然开始微笑回应我，并且一直保持到最后。r8S}h*L0xw 重点到了，以下精彩呈现： VO: Are you ****我名字? M: Sure. 递上AD，奖学金，Support Letter Vo 认真看了全部，看完SL以后，笑着对我说UQNM^#W1I Seems your professor ****(没听懂，心想也不是啥重要的，就Yes一下) Vo 继续看我的i20,边看边点头，我估计问题已经不大了 Vo：How many schools did you apply for? M: 10 Vo: And how many give you admissions? M: 9. Vo: wow(赞叹) M：Among of them, USC provide me full finance.（早就预谋好这么答的，好让她知道我不是为了钱去的，我是要有所作为的）z$YT'g¬V7L Vo：Why don’t you choose USC? M: Because UVa has one of the best programs. 本来还有几句简明扼要的表述UVa的强势和我的plan 相符，有助于我回国大展宏图的两三句话。不过看来vo好像已经不怀疑我，就没说出来。 V：Now *** the finance (忘了说什么了，大意是轮到资产问题了) What do your parents do? Me: This is their certificate of employment and income. 递给她 V： Your father is a Professor. 往下就简单看了下 V：Could　you show me your deposit certificate? (大意如此)1TK q.qm3W 我递进去。开始一两页她看得很认真，后面就随便翻过了。原本还怕她问最近两个月从股市交割转存来的2笔大额款，还把交割清单贴在存款证明后面，可是那一页她都没看。官方的股市资产证明也没看"Y`;z SF¬Tc7P V：Everything seems very good！This is your I20. You need it to go to US. ]E8L)N2k)f V:Nm很认真地说完这句就给我绿条了。 总共耗时2分钟吧。我的经验如下：%p0FL1s FUb} 准备 1． 准备一定要充分，虽说大家都说很水，但是我还不敢掉以轻心，能带的都带了，包括父母的职称证书，房产证，股市资产。显示有钱有社会地位的都准备了。我是没用上，但要是万一呢？ 2．资产问题一定要准备清楚，包括你要能解释清楚每笔资金来源，包括原始存单，包括股市交割。大额的，我06年就存进去了，还写了张来源解释（他要问起再给他看，不问得话别自找麻烦），并预防vo问起，我就说太早了，存单丢了，这些钱怎么来的解释给他听。虽然我没用到这些材料，但是万一她要认真问呢? 3． 25问回答要简明扼要，不要大而空，不然全中国学生回答都一样。但要简练，3句之内搞定。除此之外，尽量想象vo可能问的问题，尤其资金父母工作方面。 4．找个人预演几遍。A 5． DS表上的姓名编码要事先查好，写好。如果不知道怎么写，就带上，在八楼排队安检时墙上有，记住仔细核对，有些地方是要在边上注明中文的。 签证当天 1． 最重要的是，keep smile。声音清晰洪亮，语速不要太快，慢一点，你慢他也慢，防止双方都听不懂。我不确定我的eye contact 有没有用，但是这体现了我的自信。 2． 最好每个vo前都坐坐，熟悉下他们的语速，问题，表情，至少上去不慌。 3． 回答简短干脆，答到要害。 4. 上面有水喝也有厕所，不用担心 最后，诚征同去uva的兄弟姐妹，或者哪有uva的qq群，望知道的同胞们告知。祝大家1000pass，毕业设计顺利！ http://bbs.gter.net/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=668244&extra=&page=1 Vo: what is ur assistantship about? What will u do for getting the award?大概意思 Me: 这个题我之前以为自己的奖少也忽略了，不过幸好小猪头同学昨天给我mock过这个题， 稍微想过一下，要不今天真的得抓瞎。 vo: do u need interview to get admitted? me: no. V0: what is ur plan after graduation Me: 开始背段子, 国内专业形势多好云云 我背完后vo貌似嫌罗索 vo: so what is ur exact plan? Me: 只好投降，find a job in design companies in china… Vo: how long will u stay in USA? Me: 18 months… 黑妹开始翻我的表看，翻倒158一下就指着我的twin brother问他现在在哪，我说在uibe, 貌似没听说过，我就加了一句in Beijing。接着拿笔开始对i20, 并弯腰撑在窗台几乎贴到玻璃窗上，离我很近，示意我和她一起对。她逐项念，我只能跟着说yeah。对到专业就问我本科是不是也是这个，说yeah,她速度很快，来不及说别的。还有好多，比如158的父母住址什么的，都记不住了。对到奖学金那项就开始问父母工作，因为i20上写的自己还要提供3万多刀。于是开始背准备好的一大段，my father…, my mother… 尽管之前背的很流利，但当时还是有点卡。而且她还算了一下我说的年收入，透露出好像不大够的意思。 刚要解释，她就接着问我的twin brother的学费怎么办，没准备过的问题，只好说国内学费很便宜的，对家庭financial condition几乎没有影响。这时我说有我们小时候的照片要不要看，就递进去了，她翻了一下问怎么能证明那是我的twin brother，靠，没想到会这么问，只好说我有他的学生证（后来想当时应该给她看户口本的，太紧张了），她说拿来看一下，还没等我找出来就又问有没有本科成绩单，有没有录取信，有没有学生证，有没有父母收入证明，你的english profiency怎么样，要这要那的，都是还没等我找出来递进去就要下一个，而且就算递进去了也放在一边不看，有时候还自言自语地说这个不对那个不对，好像只是在帮我检查我材料的checklist一样。这时我想起了学校小米帮我写的support letter, 就问她看不看并递进去，这是她目光停留最长时间的材料，还翻倒背面看。(这里说一下，这个support letter是小米发过来的doc文件，我打印在学校一张带水印的program介绍页的背面，因为都是美标信纸，看上去就比较正规，如果vo问起来就说是为了环保，还能涉及到专业的东西。递给黑妹只是希望她看支持信内容的，没想到看完后她又翻过来看专业介绍，饶有兴趣的样子。) 我这时承认说专业介绍背面的support letter是我自己打印的，之所以和学校介绍打在一起是不想递进去太多页纸，没想到她居然主动说这也是学你们专业应该宣扬的环保理念吧，真是很惊喜，赶紧接上话开始背段子。 接着她拿起存款证明开始看，并问你给学校的财产证明是不是这个，当时没反应上来她问这个的意思，就说是同一份，后来想想，她可能觉得给学校的是同一份怎么还在我手里，其实学校那边只要扫描件而不要原件，幸好黑妹没继续纠缠这个问题。这时我觉得应该说一下钱的问题了，因为刚才她对我描述的家庭经济状况好像不太满意：money is not a problem for me，if it were, I would choose ufl, not usc, u know, even minus the assistantship, usc is way more expensive than ufl这时看见她在那点头，并且几乎和我同时说出了后半句，看来usc真是出名的贵。 接着她说：ufl录取你了？把ufl的录取信给我。 我的upenn的wati list信，cornell的reject信,以及ufl的admission信是别在一起给她的，她自己翻着看，这时我又开始背I have applied only four universities…, I choose usc because… 这是背的最后一大段，背完嘴已经干得不行了。看完ufl的录取信后她终于把手伸向旁边撕粉条，把材料都退给我，同时还问我的twin brother准备干吗，我说already admitted by graduate school of people’s bank of china好不容易才把他要去的五道口人行研究生部全称给背出来，不过这时已经不重要了。 在窗口整理了半天材料才下台阶，没有狂喜的感觉，而像是被掏空了。 整个过程有好几次我都觉得要拒我了，怀疑过家庭成员，怀疑过经济能力，怀疑过英语水平能力因为我的i20上面给搞错了说是没达到标准但实际是我达到了，等等。我觉得我的supporting letter挽回了形势，那是我的i20出错后院里小米主动给我写的,先说怎么怎么希望这个学生去那，英语能力和学习时间不是i20上面那样，希望相关人员给予visa云云。准备时没计划要搞sl这样的东西，没想到还真派上了用场。还有一些我觉得不是很重要的材料比如ufl的录取信也成了最后的救命草。 只能回忆起这么多，好像还有一些问题，或者是回答问题中插进来的问题，实在想不起来了，真的很后怕啊。没有概念到底用了多长时间，感觉也像是五六分钟，但我编辑完这个过程后觉得这么多问题至少也得问10分钟啊，怎么当时都没感觉。只知道问题一个接一个劈头盖脸的砸过来，你就得一个一个的去接，太快了，根本没有机会喘息，我只能不停的说不停的说，无暇去想有什么圈套。黑妹实在太负责了，把所有想到的想不到的都问到了，虽然之前觉得怎么会有这么苛刻的vo,但现在想来她应该是最符合标准的vo了，不会无理由的拒人和过人，除了笑的少外还是满可爱的。她说话声音不大且快，很多问题我都没听出来但我没说pardon就瞪着眼睛看她做白痴状她就会马上凑近你把刚才的问题用另一种方式再说一遍这时基本就能听懂了。大家不要因为我的签经而害怕她的提问，相反，如果遇到一定要让她keep asking，跟上她的节奏，她说你说，她不说你更得说，当她不问你问题而是自己在那打电脑时，可能你就离拒签不远了。要准备充分，把所有关于自己的问题想到，主动出击！ 所以劝告各位即将去签的同学，认真准备是硬道理，不要寄希望于大形势！我也不相信自己会那么背碰到黑妹，可是事情的确发生了。我背了一个多礼拜的滚瓜熟的段子到了那都状况频出，要是再稍微松懈一点点今天就肯定栽了。大家尽量按照能碰上黑妹的情况来准备，这样的话就算碰到她也心里有底，最难的vo如果都有把握，那碰上其他人必定会过了。签之前总会感觉说命运掌握在vo手里，但其实不是，命运是自己决定的，如果准备的不充分，以为vo 会这也不看那也不看，这个问题也不问那个也不问，那么pass 是偶然，reject是必然！ 感谢我的那位好心的被拒的哥们，使我提高了警惕，面对黑妹时没敢怠慢，你要好好准备，2000发挥的好些，希望秋天能在usc见。感谢小猪头同学以及各位帮过我的同学。最感谢的当然是家人，自不用提。 尽管说了这么多不要指望运气的话，但还是希望visa路上的gter们有好运相助！ [ 本帖最后由 yiteng1818 于 2007-5-18 07:30 编辑 ]
