Full-time Researcher (Finance) Work type: Full-time Department: Finance Area, HKU Business School Categories: Research Staff Start date: Ideally July 2026 (negotiable) Term: 11 months Description We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time researcher. It offers an opportunity for high-potential individuals to gain valuable experience towards a career in academic research before applying to a PhD programme in finance. The successful candidate will be engaged as a research assistant under the mentorship of faculty members in the Finance Area of HKU Business School. The research area may cover all subfields of finance, including asset pricing, corporate finance, household finance, macro finance, international finance, and fintech. Main duties • Collecting data and conducting analysis using modern tools • Reading, summarizing, and critically assessing the literature • Preparing research reports, presentations, and academic publications • Providing administrative support for research initiatives and other duties as needed or required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics or a related discipline • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, Stata, Matlab and strong programming skills and experience • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, able to work independently • Well-demonstrated interest in finance research and strong communication skills Compensation A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
